BuyTNI is the commercial furniture platform of The Next Idea Group, a Los Angeles-based design, architecture, and consulting group with more than 24 years of experience shaping hospitality, commercial, and residential environments across the country and beyond.
The Next Idea Group was built on a single conviction: that exceptional design should be accessible, not a privilege. Over more than two decades, that philosophy guided hundreds of award-winning projects, restaurants, hotels, corporate campuses, multi-family developments, and senior living communities, delivered through our integrated family of brands including TNI Architects, TNI Design, TNI Restaurant Consultants, and Express Renders.
BuyTNI was born from that same conviction. As our design work grew, a recurring challenge surfaced: clients needed thoughtfully designed, commercially durable furniture, but the market offered either premium pieces at unreachable price points, or affordable options with no design integrity. We knew there was a better way, because we'd spent 24 years proving it.
So, we built it. BuyTNI brings the design intelligence, global sourcing relationships, and quality standards of TNI Group directly to you, through a streamlined, modern online platform built specifically for hospitality, commercial, and institutional environments.

Robert is the founder and CEO of TNI Group Inc., the parent company behind The Next Idea Group, TNI Architects, TNI Restaurant Consultants, and BuyTNI. Over more than 24 years in design and architecture, he has led more than 600 projects across hospitality, commercial, institutional, and residential sectors. An industry speaker, published author, and recognized thought leader, Robert continues to shape BuyTNI through his commitment to design excellence, creative innovation, and delivering genuine value for every client.
Thelma Ancill,
Project Director & Co-Founder
As Project Director, Thelma brings more than 17 years of experience in project management, procurement, technology integration, and client care. Her operational discipline, focused on keeping projects efficient, on time, and within budget, ensures every BuyTNI client experience is as smooth as the furniture performs. Thelma's attention to detail and passion for client relationships are what transform a transaction into a partnership.

“Several years ago, I found myself returning to a question the industry had largely stopped asking: Why is it so hard to find commercial furniture that is both beautifully designed and genuinely affordable?
The prevailing assumption was that value and quality were fundamentally in conflict, that one always came at the expense of the other. I never accepted that. Two decades of design and architecture work at The Next Idea Group had shown me it wasn't true. We had built a career proving otherwise, one project at a time.
BuyTNI isn't a departure from that philosophy. It's the natural extension of it.
We took the design-first thinking that shaped TNI Group's reputation across more than 600 projects, in hospitality, corporate environments, real estate, institutions, and senior living, and applied it to something every one of those clients also needed: furniture that performs, looks exceptional, and arrives without the traditional commercial markup.
The industry assumed that making quality accessible meant cutting corners somewhere. Our position is that it means eliminating waste somewhere, in sourcing, in process, in the gap between what good furniture costs to produce and what it typically costs to buy. That's the space BuyTNI was designed to occupy.
